Chapter Ten
Tom and Noah got into the cab and headed off to Tomâs house. Noah was speechless as the cab pulled up to an elegant wooden fence, and then Tom got out entered a code on the pin pad and the gates opened. The cab proceeded down a long cobblestone driveway to the front of an exceptional contemporary mansion in Highgate.
âYou didnât tell me you lived here!â Noah exclaimed as he and Tom got out of the cab, âI didnât realize acting brought in this much money.â
âI didnât pay for this house. My grandparents built it, and left it to my mum and dad.â Tom said as he paid the cab driver.
As Tom and Noah were getting the luggage out of the cab a slender woman in her 40âs with long red hair and brown eyes came out of the house followed by a man in his 40âs with short curly pepper colored hair and glasses.
âThere is my baby boy.â The woman said as she wrapped her arms around Tom.
âHello mum, dad. I would like you to finally meet Noah; my fiancé.â Tom said as he hugged the woman.
âDid you say fiancé?â The man asked as he looked back and forth between Noah and Tom.
âYes I did dad.â Tom replied as he and his mother broke their hug.
âOnly two weeks ago you told us you were seeing him, now you are getting married?â Tomâs mother asked in shock.
âNow calm down Elizabeth. I presume Tom and Noah will explain everything!â Tomâs father said as he grabbed Elizabethâs shoulders and directed her to the house.
Tom and Noah grabbed their luggage and followed Tomâs parents inside.
âTom, you and Noah can share your room if you would like. Why donât you show him the way?â Tomâs father said as he nodded to the elevator that was in the middle of the foyer of the ground floor.
Noah followed Tom onto the elevator up to the first floor.
âWelcome to my place.â Tom said as he showed Noah to the room at the end of the hall.
Tom help Noah put his things away, and then showed him the terrace that overlooked the two acre land.
âI never knew how magnificent this view was until now.â Tom said as he watched Noah lean on the rail watching the sunset.
âWhy do you say that?â Noah asked as he turned around.
âBecause, I have you and for some reason having you here with me watching the sunset feels right, like it is meant to be.â Tom said as he pulled Noah closer.
âWe should probably get downstairs and explain to your parents about our engagement.â Noah said as he leaned in and gave Tom a kiss.
âYouâre probably right, besides I have you all night long.â Tom said as he kissed Noah back.
Tom and Noah decided to take the stairs back down instead of the elevator and heard Tomâs parents talking.
âAnthony they are too young to get married. They have only been dating all of two weeks.â Elizabeth said as she paced the foyer.
âElizabeth, I know but it is their choice.
